Lawrenceburg Man Injured By Intruder

A Lawrenceburg man sustained injury Monday when an intruder pushed his way inside his home, demanding that he hand over drugs and money owed to him.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department answered the burglary call to a home on First Avenue around 12:42 p.m. The victim, age 69, reported that the intruder had begun knocking on his door shortly before.

The victim reported that when he opened the door, the man began demanding he hand over pills or money, “…that Stacey owed him.”

When he informed the man that he did not know anyone named Stacey, he said the man pushed him back inside his living room and threw him onto the floor.

The victim told officers that while he was on the floor several items fell out of his pockets. He said the intruder snatched up his pocket knife and told him he was going to cut his throat, then opened the knife in a menacing manner.

The victim reported that the man bit him several times during the struggle. He then grabbed his wallet, which contained $100, and fled.

Officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect’s vehicle to aid in their investigation. They report that the victim sustained several wounds on his left arm as a result of the intruder biting him.
